Hugo Hofstetter: "Grammont, Bosberg on the menu of the Brussels Classic"

Since last year, the Brussels Cycling Classic has changed its scenery by focusing more on the Flanders cobbled hills.

“I have not ridden the Brussels Cycling Classic very often, only twice in my career. The course has been modified since with the introduction of the Mur de Grammont and the Bosberg. It’s the kind of competition that I like, now it remains to be seen how the legs will respond as I have done a big training cycle this week. You have to be in good condition for such a course with cobbled Flanders hills. If my legs respond, I should be fine. I think that the race scenario can be similar to that of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, with the difference that it won’t be at UCI World Tour level, even if the guys in the startlist are very strong. A good breakaway group can fight for the victory, or it can also be a small group sprint. Let’s see…”

“The Brussels Cycling Classic, like the Grand Prix Marcel Kint, has seen its course modified with passages on the Mur de Grammont and on the Bosberg, difficulties that will have to be negotiated twice. This change will undoubtedly change the course of the race. Since last year, this race has become a purely “Flemish” one. We will have some nice cards with our classicmen engaged in Brussels: Clément Russo, Amaury Capiot, Connor Swift and Hugo Hofstetter, without forgetting Dan McLay who appreciates these races, and who has, like Hugo, a nice speed, just in case…”
