Hugo Hofstetter: "Do everything to shine at the Bemer Cyclassics”
One week after the European Elite Championships in Germany, Hugo Hofstetter returns to Germany with Arkéa-Samsic to compete in the Bemer Cyclassics in Hamburg.
The pre-race
“I’m happy to be back with Arkéa-Samsic after having competed in the European Elite Road Championships in Munich with the French team. This selection for the French team allowed me to get back into shape. I think I did a good job in Germany in the last lap and Arnaud Démare was happy with that, as was national coach Thomas Voeckler. I continued to work hard this week to be as competitive as possible and to be in a position to win. I will do everything I can to win.
The briefing
“Bemer Cyclassics is a classic that is part of the UCI WorldTour calendar. We will have two main assets with Hugo Hofstetter and Amaury Capiot who will be supported by riders who appreciate this kind of event and who have the capacity to support us during the race. A top 5 would be a good result, and that is what we are aiming for. The end of the course in Hamburg requires both a certain sense of placement and physical strength. It’s often a race that ends in a sprint but in a small group, and we have riders who are capable of shining in the classics with Hugo and Amaury.
