Connor Swift: "Wearing the number 1 gives me extra motivation"

Connor Swift returns to the roads of Poitou-Charentes with motivation and desire.

Pre-race

The Tour du Poitou-Charentes is obviously a good memory for me as it was the first stage race I won. I’m happy to be back in this race, and I hope to leave on the last stage with the same memories as I had in 2021. It is a difficult race that requires you to be in a good position during the road stages and above all not to take any breaks, then the individual time trial contributes to establish a hierarchy in the general classification. I want to have a good race in this edition of the Poitou-Charentes, and wearing the number 1 bib will give me an extra motivation“.

The briefing

“Connor Swift is the outgoing winner of the Tour du Poitou-Charentes. We are coming back to this event with ambitions with Connor who can succeed himself. He will be protected on this event as will Kévin Vauquelin who recently finished 6th in the Artic Race and 7th in his first ever European Elite Time Trial Championships in Munich. This event offers a time trial on the eve of the finish in Poitiers. Connor took the jersey last year on this stage and defended it and even improved on it the next day on the always very eventful final stage that finishes in the streets of Poitiers.
