Dan McLay has renewed his contract with the Arkéa-Samsic team for two seasons while Benjamin Declercq and Bram Welten have renewed theirs with the team for one season each.
Emmanuel Hubert, Manager of the Arkéa-Samsic Team
“In consultation with the sports management of the Arkéa-Samsic Team, we have decided to renew Dan McLay, Benjamin Declercq, and Bram Welten’s contract. The last two riders mentioned hold important positions in our group of sprinters. And Dan can act as leadout man for Nacer Bouhanni but also can win races when he is the number one sprinter, as he has shown twice recently on the Tour of Portugal roads. Bram Welten is young and has room to improve, so he continues to be an investment in the future. Finally, Benjamin Declercq is a real “Flandrian” who brings us his experience in those types of races. He also knows how to perform, his month of August has proved that. While on other occasions he is able to take on the role of the perfect teammate.”
Dan Mc Lay
“Since coming back to the team, everything has been going perfectly well, whether I’m in a role of leadout for the sprint, or I’m the number one sprinter in some races with the option to play my card, as was the case at the Tour of Portugal. I am really looking forward to the next two years that await us, the Arkéa-Samsic team and me, in order to continue this excellent work together. ”
“I am delighted to extend my contract with Arkéa-Samsic! I know I can still improve and that the team offers me great possibilities. I really hope to earn some good results in 2021. Thanks also to Emmanuel Hubert, General Manager of the Arkéa-Samsic team, who once again gives me his confidence, especially after the strange season we have just gotten through due to the health situation.”
“I am very happy to be able to continue to write a my story with the Arkéa-Samsic team. I like the atmosphere within the team, whether we’re talking about the riders, or the staff. It’s a family, you can feel it. It’s great. I am happy to renew my contract ”
