Do you want to join the Arkéa-Samsic development project?
You like challenges, that’s great, so do we! This year, the Arkéa-Samsic Développement team has decided to set up a competition for all cyclists (those who are at least 16 years old by 04/01/2020), and without an upper age limit.
What are the competition rules?
Allow the Arkéa-Samsic development structure to access to your Training Peaks account, and be certain to use a reliable power meter.
– Create a Training Peaks account (free of charge), enter your personal data (family name, first name, email, birthdate), synchronize all of your training rides and races for the past three years if possible, so that the Arkéa-Samsic team can access it.
To allow access, simply click on Settings / Coaches and add email@example.com.
You will then regularly have to synchronize all your sports activities as well as your weight (via metrics / weight). Please remember to enter the weight for the last 3 years. Some sensors require regular calibration. Remember to do this, otherwise some of your training results might not be taken into account by our analysis system.
Note to Bene: Our goal is that the athletes commit only to the appropriate amount of training, and especially that they do not undertake too heavy workloads that could negatively affect their health. Athletes who wish to participate in this competition must not in any way change their normal methods of training. The analysis will mainly be based on training numbers from the last three seasons before the Covid-19.

Sequence of events (a suggested timeline, according to the evolution of the health situation in the world)
– April registration
– Selection phase 1: based on physical criteria, lasting until June, athletes who have passed this stage will receive an email notifying them
-Phase 2: selection based on performance criteria in competition, in July (if the season has resumed its normal course), 20 riders will be in direct contact with the Arkéa-Samsic team (telephone interviews or individual interviews face to face)
Phase 3: selection based on character and personality, at the end of July one or more athletes will be selected.
They will join the Arkea-Samsic Développement structure and will then be monitored by our performance team. The result of this monitoring may lead, in the short or medium term, to a professional stagiaire contract or even subsequently to a neo-pro contract.
