“It was a good day up front, I needed to reassure myself because I haven’t felt great since the Drôme. I raced at the front, because that’s how you make progress. I am satisfied with my day. I only got stuck two kilometres from the finish after having done almost 190 in front! I am going to start again and above all we still have two nice stages to ride in this Tirreno-Adriatico”.

“The guys did a great job in each of the three passages of Bellante, placing me. I hung on when it got tight at two kilometres five. I couldn’t make the effort to catch the group of riders in front when they accelerated. I gave it my all, no regrets. I am still 18th in the overall classification tonight and I will do everything I can to hold on to this place until the end”.

The debrief

Considering the beginning of the race, Warren accompanied the group, which was made up of ten interesting riders who could have won. The finish in Bellante was quite punchy, Thibault hung on. He remains among the first twenty riders in the provisional general classification of this very tough Tirreno-Adriatico. Finishing in the top 20 of this World-Tour race could become a goal for him, Thibault must now assert himself and gain experience on races of such a level”.
