Tour Down Under, stage 4: Elie in the right echelon
This 4th stage of the Tour Down Under was marked by echelons. The Arkéa-Samsic team was represented by Kévin Ledanois and Elie Gesbert, which allowed the latter to gain thirteen places in the overall classification.

“The stage was on paper dedicated to the sprinters, but an element invited itself on the race: croswinds It made this stage very nervous right away. Jayco-Alula put a lot of pressure on an exposed section at kilometer 60. We had taken this into account. Élie and Kévin were well positioned, and Hugo was not careful. He recognized his mistake. The good news is that Elie did not miss this tactical move. This allows him to move up a bit in the general ranking. I expect him to be able to keep up with the top 15 riders on a tough stage tomorrow, which would allow him to improve his position in the overall classification of the 2023 Tour Down Under.”
