“My mission was to stay around Dan and Clément for the final. Clément was able to get away with some riders and then the peloton came back on them. Behind them, I managed to jump in a group that was chasing the leading duo. The difficulties, the layout of the circuit complicated the task and it was relaunch after relaunch. I am reassured about my form after these high intensity efforts before the European Championships on the track.”

“I am happy to have been able to race my first race for Arkéa-Samsic even if my legs were not really my best day. It was my first professional race in Belgium and that already allows me to gain experience on a difficult circuit and confronted with the very high level.”

Roger Tréhin, sport director

“It was a race of movement as you would expect. The circuit was technical and lent itself to this kind of scenario. Clément rode well and took a good blow with about 30 km to go, then Donavan came out in the good group fighting for 3rd place. Their behaviour was satisfactory today.”
