On the line

I made two straight turns on the downhill, so I was a long time behind. I went up from group to group until I was back in the peloton where Warren and Michel were in Puig Major. Warren replaced me and rode on the descent before the ascent of the Mirador d’Es Colomer in order to try to reduce the gap to the leader and to make sure that we would be able to win. But he was very strong in front. I was in 2nd position in the peloton at the foot of the last climb of the day. I tried then because it wasn’t going very well anymore. I wanted to set the pace again. I probably did too much, but I have no regrets because we didn’t try to win. I tried, and that’s what I want to remember, that’s how you progress”.

The debrief’

“The rain and the cold were still on the agenda for this third round of the Majorca Challenge, the Trofeo Andratx. This competition with a lot of difference in altitude for the beginning of the season was a real challenge for the peloton. Louis rode a very good race as he chased down the main peloton with Warren for 30 kilometres after going off the road twice. He came back on the descent of Puig Major. Warren at the foot of the Mirador d’Es Colomer replaced him. Louis then tried to break away from the peloton on this last climb to take second place. He attacked twice, which shows his generosity but also his youth at such a level, but his attitude is the right one because it is by trying, without any complexes, that our young riders will achieve great performances”.
