David Dekker: “I am happy to join Team Arkéa-Samsic. It’s a new step in my career, a choice I made after my two years with Jumbo-Visma. My 2022 season was marked by bad luck, and my objective next year will be to get results in sprints or classics where I can take my chance. It is a new challenge for me in a new environment. I am confident in my abilities and I want to get results and wins in my new colours. I like the difficult races with cobblestones, with small climbs that criss-cross the peloton, but also when the weather is bad. But of course I can also do well in flat races, with sprints that are contested without having to draw too much from my reserves before the finish.”

Emmanuel Hubert, Manager Général

“David Dekker is one of the young sprinters in the professional peloton in the making. Coming from the Dutch racing academy, he made his training with the Jumbo-Visma team, a team with many fast riders. In this team, which is one of the best in the WorldTour, David has been able to learn his trade and to do his best when he had the opportunity to do so, as it was the case last year on the roads of the UAE Tour, when he took the second place in the second stage of this competition. Dutch U23 champion, 3rd of the Grand Prix Samyn in 2020, David Dekker will continue to learn his trade with Arkéa-Samsic, either by working with the most experienced riders of the team, or by having the possibility to play his personal card, depending on the events he will have to compete in.”
