“I never gave up, the weather conditions were difficult, as I like them. The road was slippery and I was riding on eggshells at times. There was a gutter in a climb that I couldn’t take with Remco Evenepoel. Our opponents understood that and accelerated every time at that point. I never gave up, I fought until the end. I made a big effort in the last lap at this point. This big effort cost me in the last climb but I came back in the descent. I launched my sprint with 800 meters to go so that we wouldn’t be caught by the group behind. There was wave in the sprint and I finally claim the 3rd place. It is good to have luck on my side sometimes”.

“Warren is at the level we expect from him on races he likes. The wet cobbles caused him a bit of trouble, with a gutter that didn’t make him feel comfortable. He recovered each time showing his physical level on this period of objective for him. We are very satisfied with his result. We have to enjoy this 3rd place when moments like that happen. I would also like to pay tribute to the very good work of the whole team. A podium in such a race, at such a level, is very rewarding. The counters have been reset to zero. We have a smile on our faces. We know that Warren is doing well. We have ridden two Ardennes classics out of four, and we hope that the pressure will increase again soon”.
