Early season programme of Nicolas Edet, Hugo Hofstetter and Simon Guglielmi
Here is the programme of Hugo Hofstetter, Nicolas Édet and Simon Guglielmi. The programme of Michel Ries, who had surgery in December for an endofibrosis of the iliac artery, will be communicated later.
Nicolas Edet’s programme
Analysis by Roger Tréhin, Sports director: “Nicolas immediately expressed his wish to start the 2022 season as soon as possible. We have decided to start him in Mallorca, a stage race that offers four difficult days out of five. This will give him the opportunity to express himself. He will then support the rider who will be designated in the Tour of Oman, and even be co-leader in this competition, a race whose profile can also give him the opportunity to show himself, and finally in the Tour of Catalonia he will have the task of accompanying Nairo in the mountain stages”.
Trofeo Mallorca (26 to 30 January), Spain
Tour of Oman (10 to 15 February), Sultanate of Oman

Hugo Hofstetter’s programme
Analysis of Yvon Caër, sport-director: “Hugo will inaugurate the red and black colours of the Arkéa-Samsic team on the occasion of the Trofeo de Mallorca with two races on his programme out of the five proposed. He will follow this up with two stage races, Etoile de Bessèges and Volta ao Algarve, in order to build up a big block and get some “cash” for the classics programme in Belgium, which is his main objective. These two one-week stage races will allow him to switch to the one-day races in Belgium such as Het Nieuwsblad, Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne, Grand Prix Samyn, i.e. the great majority of the cobbled semi-classics at the beginning of the season in Belgium”.

Programme by Simon Guglielmi
Analysis of Arnaud Gérard, Directeur-sportif: “Simon’s profile is that of a puncheur who knows how to serve his leaders without restraint, when the race conditions require it. He will start his season with the Trofeo de Mallorca, then will compete in the Vuelta de Murcia and the Volta ao Algarve where he will be there to support Warren, while at Paris-Nice he will have the same status of team-mate but with Nairo. After that, his programme includes some French Cup races and some one-day races in Italy and Spain, with the possibility to play his card in competitions that are suitable for punchers like him”.
