Etoile de Bessèges (5th stage) : Thibault Guernalec 5th

Connor Swift and Thibault Guernalec finished 7th and 8th respectively in the overall classification of the Étoile de Bessèges 2022.

“I finished the Etoile de Bessèges with a good 5th place on the time trial which was my objective. The overall result is good, I am happy with my feelings on the difficult stages and throughout the week. Two days ago I was in a breakaway, yesterday I fought all the way up. My only regret is to have lost time on the first day in the stage of the borders but it is very encouraging for the rest of the season”.

“Thibault did an excellent time today, just like his beautiful climb yesterday. We know that time trials are his speciality and he continues to progress. Connor was in a high level confrontation with a finish that was not to his advantage. Nevertheless, he finished twelfth. We finish this Etoile de Bessèges with Connor in 7th place, just ahead of Thibault, which is a very good result with a still young team. I also remember the attitude of the group, everyone was mobilised. We missed the stage win but we are in a good dynamic and that pulls everyone up.
