Laurent Pichon : " La Roue Tourangelle, a bumpy final ".

The French Cup race, in which our team has good positions, 2nd in the individual ranking, 3rd in the youth ranking, and 2nd in the team ranking, has a final that borrows the difficulties of Paris-Tours.

Pre-race

“I only discovered the Roue Tourangelle last year, but I have known all the bumps in the final for a few years now, because it is similar to the one in Paris-Tours. The race is often decisive at this moment, it is at this point that the puncheurs usually try to make the break. We will have riders of this quality at the start, but also the card of Nacer in case of a sprint finish. He is in good shape as he showed it again this week on the roads of Bruges-La Panne”.

The debrief

“The Tourangelle wheel with Nacer at the start, we have ambitions to win. But be careful, because there are a lot of difficulties in the final part of the race, bumps that you can find in Paris-Tours, with notably the côte de l’Épan, the end of the race is often a moving race, because in the last part of the race it goes up or down, and so it is not always easy to control for the sprinters’ formations. There is a real possibility to get a good result“.
