The debrief
“The big final explanation took place on the climb of Lagunas de Neilas with a big tempo of Mikel Landa’s team who managed to turn the overall classification of this Tour of Burgos upside down. Miguel Florèz fought hard and achieved a climb which, even if it wasn’t significant for the overall result at the finish line, is still promising, considering that Miguel has recently resumed racing after his crash on the roads of the Alpes-Maritimes and Var, which resulted in a fracture of the femoral neck”.
On the line
“This last stage of the Tour of Burgos was a fast one as it has been since the beginning of this competition, but today it was a mountainous one with a summit finish. I had a good feeling but yesterday I crashed in the final of the stage with many other riders. It was my first competition with a repetition of big climbs over several days since my crash at the beginning of the season and my months of convalescence in Colombia. I think that these days of racing in Spain will help me to improve my condition for the end of the season”.
