Nairo Quintana: "My physical condition is increasing”
Nairo Quintana attacked on the last climb of the Pabeierbierg, but was countered by the puncheurs on the steep but short wall.

“This Tour du Luxembourg is now over and the time trial has decided the top 10 in the general classification of this race, the main thing is that I finish this race with good sensations, a physical condition that is going crescendo. I am close to the leaders. I attacked on the final stage of the Tour of Luxembourg, after a good work of my team-mates and an offensive of Dayer on the previous lap to try to reduce the number of riders in the peloton, but unfortunately there were still too many of them. I will be better in the coming races in Italy, so that I can finish this 2021 season well and start next season in very good condition with my team Arkéa-Samsic”.
The debrief
“The final stage was a difficult one with a breakaway that took quite a bit of time, which made the race full, as we wanted it to be, and we wanted to make it even tougher if we had the chance. This is what we did. We wanted to gain some places in the overall classification of this Tour of Luxembourg, so that he wouldn’t finish 11th. Nairo attacked, but unfortunately he didn’t have enough jump on the last climb. He can’t take the lead any better than he did, he goes on the offensive but he still lacks a bit of it -as they say- to be able to make the difference, it’s a pity because there was a way to move up three or four places overall. Now we are looking forward to the next races in Italy”.
