On the line

“We always have the hope to do better. I race to win, but today it was the strongest rider who won. I tried for my part. I went into the sprint. I didn’t make any mistakes I think, but I know that I can still improve some points to get closer to the top places. I am happy to have taken part in this sprint, to have tried. I am 4th, which is good, even if it is always better to win. I will try to do that in the next opportunity that will be offered to the sprinters in this competition”.

The debrief’

“This second stage of Paris-Nice was a good day for the Arkéa-Samsic team. We didn’t have any problems. The riders were all focused in relation to the different phases of the race that we encountered. Dan was 4th in the bunch sprint. He didn’t make any mistakes, he made the right moves at the right time. He just lacks a little bit of legs. This performance proves his position in the hierarchy of international sprinters. It also proves that he can win at UCI WorldTour level and I am convinced that he will do it again. The sprint on this second stage of Paris-Nice was a bit disjointed because of the crash on the edge of the final, Dan was a bit isolated. But he was able to manage. I also want to salute the courage of Thibault Guernalec who finished this stage. Well done to him”.
