For his comeback to racing after his crash at Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Elie Gesbert took 9th place in Ordizia at the Prueba Villafranca. Anthony Delaplace finished 10th.

“When you come back from an injury it’s different from a recovery after a break. There is always an element of uncertainty about your physical form, your sensations… Today I lacked a little bit of that to go with the best in a very tough race. Nevertheless, we arrived in a group that was fighting for 2nd place. Nevertheless, I leave with satisfaction and confidence concerning my physical condition. This is positive for the future.”
“It was a beautiful race with a very good field at the start. We knew that we had to be careful at the start and that the teams of the favourites would control the race. Our riders were able to do the work at the right moment to place our best cards and this double top 10 is satisfying. It is even reassuring for Elie who was making his return to competition today.”
