Roger Tréhin: "The Route Adélie with the support of our public »

The Route Adélie de Vitré will open this Friday the cycle of Breton classics that are the “salt” of the French Professional Cup.

Pre-race

“I discovered the Route Adélie de Vitré last year. It’s an event that I liked. It’s tiring, but despite that you have to be quite punchy in the final. The weather conditions also play an important role. Last year, for example, it was windy, rainy and cold, which made the race even more difficult. We’ll see what kind of weather we’ll have this year, and whether it will influence the course of the event. I also know that this competition can be a race of movement. It allows you to be offensive, and that’s the kind of cycling I like.

Anthony Delaplace

“I stayed a few days without riding after my crash in the Tour of Catalunya, then I gradually started training again, adding more intensities. I will be at the start of the Route Adélie with collective intentions to help the group to achieve the best possible performance in this beautiful Breton classic. We have a good squad, so it will be up to the team-mates like me to do our best so that they can shine”.

The briefing

“The Route Adélie de Vitré is obviously a race of particular importance in the competition calendar of the Arkéa-Samsic team, because it takes place on our territory, in Brittany, but also not far from our race department. Racing at home, in front of our public who will come to support us and carry us, always gives us extra motivation. Often the competition is of great quality on this event which has made its place in the professional race calendar over the seasons. Laurent Pichon, who won this competition in 2017, will be our road captain, and there is no doubt that he will be able to guide our young riders in the best possible way, together with Anthony Delaplace.
