The debrief
“Everything is decided in the last 40 kilometres. We had counted on an offensive final, but when the break formed in the final, we were not in it, which forced us to correct the situation. The guys did their job to bring it back, three of our riders made the jump. Kevin was coming for the first time in a four-man sprint. He didn’t do well in the final pack, he’ll learn. He is disappointed tonight, we are too. We all saw once again that Kevin is strong, but he has to learn to win.
Finish Line
“The weather was difficult all day. I was aiming for at least a podium today, so it leaves me with an unfinished taste, 4th. I didn’t understand the end of the race very well, especially the lower part of the circuit before the finish. I was in the company of faster riders and I should have been behind them and tried my luck from further away by catching them. The podium could have been possible in this way, because in the end I just missed it”.
