Saudi Tour (Stage 5): Dan McLay 2nd
Our British sprinter takes the second place in the last stage of the Saudi Tour around AlUla Old Town. Benjamin Declerq is 9th overall.
“It was a short and very fast stage (2h56’10” for 139 kilometers) with a finish in town. I finished second like two days ago. There is a touch of disappointment, I had very good feelings today. Nevertheless, I think that the form is good for a month of February and I hope that it will smile in the next weeks. I also wanted to thank the whole team who did another great job today.”
Sports Director: “We finish second again, there are no regrets. We tried everything. Even if there is no stage victory, the balance of this Saudi Tour is positive with two second places for Dan and the ninth place overall for Benjamin. Throughout the event, the Arkea-Samsic team showed great cohesion and we fought with the best.”
