Thomas Boudat: “The final was stormy”

“I still had some soreness from yesterday’s crash, but Roger wanted me to do a sprint today to work on our automatisms with Matîs and Kévin. I did it. The final was very difficult, Matîs and I had a hard time to find each other, Kévin put me back in the lead with two kilometers to go. It started on the left side of the road but I had already made a good effort and I didn’t have the legs to do better than 12th. I was not in a good shape. Now there is another sprint after tomorrow, and I hope by then I will have recovered all my capacities”.
The debrief
“This second stage of the Tour of Burgos saw a five-man breakaway form, the peloton controlled and caught them before the last ten kilometres. Three other riders tried their luck as finishers and were caught in the last kilometre. Thomas Boudat, who had a heavy crash yesterday, finishes 12th.
Tomorrow’s stage will be a little bit steeper with the Picòn Blanco less than twenty kilometres from the finish line”.
