Tour de Romandie (2nd stage), Arnaud Gérard: "A difficult day"

Clément Champoussin took 12th place in the 2nd stage of the Tour de Romandie in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Kévin Vauquelin was forced to leave the race.

 

Medical bulletin

Since the prologue of the Tour de Romandie, Kévin Vauquelin has been suffering from pain on his left side hip that will require physiotherapy and rest for a few days. The medical team of the Arkea-Samsic team will decide on a possible complementary assessment in case of evolution of this pain in the next few days”.

“A difficult day! It is never easy to lose a rider, especially when it is your designated leader. Kévin Vauquelin had to abandon this second stage of the Tour de Romandie because of pain in his left hip since the prologue. It is difficult for him and for us but that is sport. You have to accept it. There are still three days of racing to go in this Tour de Romandie. We remain mobilized. We are not giving up. Clément Champoussin finished 12th today in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Cristián Rodriguez and Ewen Costiou also finished among the favourites on a stage that was very hard fought ».
