Tour of Catalonia (7th stage), Louis Barré 11th
Louis Barré took the 11th place in the 7th and traditional stage of Montjuic that ends the Tour of Catalonia. Elie Gesbert is 22nd in the final general classification.

“It was a complicated week, because I got sick as well as several of my team-mates, but in the end it ended well. I learnt a lot in this Tour of Catalunya which was my very first UCI WorldTour event of one week. It’s a pity I couldn’t finish in the top 10. Eleventh is still my best performance at this level. I didn’t have a great feeling yet but I hung in there. I really liked this last stage with these short bumps that are repeated without too much flat and that require placement. It’s the kind of course that I like”.

“We finish this Tour of Catalunya on a good note, better than we started it. Louis Barré finished 11th in the always difficult and hard fought stage of Montjuic. This was his first participation in a UCI WorldTour week-long event. We can see that he has good recovery skills, as does 20 year old Ewen Costiou, 2nd UCI WorldTour race of his career, who was in a long breakaway this week, and 20th in this final stage. Élie Gesbert was 22nd overall. We were hoping for better, of course. Our riders never gave up despite the problems they had during the week. The objective now is that this Tour of Catalonia allows them to bounce back as soon as possible towards new objectives”.
