Veenendaal Classic: Lukasz Owsian to return
Lukasz Owsian, who left Liège-Bastogne-Liège after a crash and a dislocation of his left shoulder, will make his comeback in the Dutch race, Veenendaal-Veenendaal Classic.
“Veenendaal-Veenendaal Classic is a typical Dutch race with a lot of curves and a fairly flat race profile. It can also be subject to bends, with the wind. I’ve just come back from a training camp at altitude with the Arkéa-Samsic team, in Sierra Nevada, and I feel good. Everything is back in order for me after my crash at Liège-Bastogne-Liège and my dislocation of the left shoulder. My job on such a race will be to help the team, the sprinters, and if for example there is a breakaway it will be to work in favour of the one who will be designated as such to make the tempo at the head of the peloton, for example.”
“Veenendaal is a typical Dutch race. It is quite flat, with a lot of restarts, and as always in this country, the element that can be decisive is the wind, depending on whether it is present on the race or not, and at what intensity. This race is usually a sprint, and Dan will be our designated sprinter in the event of such a situation at the finish, even if it borders on an exercise in which he knows how to be skilful and often at ease.”
