“The whole team did a great job before the sprint and then I got stuck. That’s why I didn’t get a better result today. I’ve just come back from a fall and seven weeks without racing. I’m very happy to be back racing and to have been able to get back to my teammates.”

Sébastien Hinault, sport director

“All our riders come back to racing after a break in July. Dan was our leader in case of a sprint. He was very well led in the last hectometres by Clément but he was hampered afterwards. After such a long break, it is never easy to get back on track. He also needs to accumulate sprints. For the general classification, Simon was delayed by a crash today. He was badly burned but was able to start again. We can nevertheless count on Anthony who was well placed today and whose hilly stage tomorrow could suit him.”
