Vuelta (Stage 10), Sebastian Hinault: "Thibault has reassured himself »
On the line
“I am happy to have found good legs, better than the ones I had this weekend. I am happy that I have found good legs again, better than the ones I had this weekend, which is good in view of the two weeks we have left in this Vuelta. I was aiming for a top 20 on this stage and I started with a very good rhythm, but the heat made me get stuck in the final. If I had chosen a slightly slower pace, I would have stalled. I am convinced of that. The time lost at the beginning of the stage would have been the same at the finish. I am convinced of that. It was a good day mentally, but now I would have liked to finish in the top 20. It would have been my 3rd one this year in the UCI Worldtour”.

The debrief
“The level on this individual time trial of the Vuelta Ciclista a España is very high, especially when you see the performance of Remco Evenepoel. Thibault was hoping for a little bit better, we were too, but his sensations since a few days were not at their best. He was reassured today. Thibault was able to ride at an average speed of 51 km/h. We were aiming for a top 20, Thibault is among the 30ers. I think that he needs to complete his first Grand Tour in order to take a step forward in this kind of time trial.
