Winner Anacona: "The Montello, judge of the Tre Valli Varesine”

The Tre Valli Varesine is a circuit race, which revolves around the city of Varese, with difficulties along the way.

Pre-race

“The Tre Valli Varesine is part of the Lombard triptych and it is an event that counts for the Italian Cup, and the transalpine teams are always motivated to get results and points in this type of race and to be the best in Italy. The Tre Valle Varesine is a hilly race with two laps of the city circuit of Busto Arsizio, followed by a circuit in a row and finally a circuit around Varese, which offers little respite and the rhythm is always fast, with passages in the city and numerous restarts. The Montello, a 1 km climb between 7 and 9%, will have to be climbed eight times and the selection of the riders will be made as they go along. The victory is usually decided between groups of riders ranging from ten to twenty, and often some riders manage to break away and win either in small groups or alone. It’s a demanding race, it usually takes place in the summer and this year it’s taking place in the autumn with weather that may not be good, which again can change the data of this event.
