Yvon Caër: "Keep the good things"

On the ligne

“I tried to get into the breakaway in order to get a gap, but the peloton came back very quickly. I had a bad back after my crash yesterday, which was a pity because I had good legs. But I couldn’t force myself. This week allowed me to discover myself even more. I signed my first top 5 in the UCI WorldTour. I still have some work to do, I need to improve my power and the management of the repetition of the efforts in the climbs. I will try to improve on that level. I would like to remember this great collective week, the team spirit that allowed me to fight until the end, both from my team-mates and the staff”

The débrief’

“This week in Paris-Nice has been very satisfying. It was also an accelerated learning process for a lot of riders, because our team was the youngest in this Paris-Nice. We had a lot of bad luck, but this is not an excuse, even if it probably cost us some places in the general classification for Kévin. We have to remember the good things that happened during this competition, like the fact that the team didn’t give up and today our riders went forward again. They tried to make their mark on this final stage with the desire to do something. They were active to try to win but the leaders and their teams decided otherwise. But the reaction of the riders is good and this is how the group as a whole will continue to progress”.
