Alessandro Verre: "The final of the Giro dell'Appennino has changed”
Arkéa-Samsic is heading for Italy and the Giro dell’Appennino, which will be led by the trio Nicolas Edet, Michel Ries and Alessandro Verre.
The pre-race
“I will ride the Mercan’Tour Classic Alpes Maritimes and the Giro dell’Appennino. I was in the breakaway group in this race and that allowed me to make some efforts in a very difficult race with big climbs. I went forward as it was asked to me in the briefing. The Mercan Tour and the Tour of the Appenines are my recovery races after a break following the Asturias. I hope to have a good race in Italy. It’s not a race I’m going to discover because I already rode it last year, but the course has changed, especially the final with the bumps, so we’ll see…”.
The briefing
“The Tour of the Apennines is a hilly race, there are less big climbs than in the Alpes-Maritimes, but it is still difficult. The team will revolve around Michel Ries, Nicolas Edet, Alessandro, and it will be Winner’s comeback. The goal will be to go forward, to be collective and enterprising in order to obtain the best possible performance”.
