Arnaud Gérard: "we love those conditions"

The GP Criquielion and the GP Monséré have the same recipe: a circuit, cobblestones, small roads, a playground on which the Arkéa-Samsic team hopes to shine.

“Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne were discoveries for me this year, which allows me to develop my skills in the Flemish races. The work of the team members is important in this type of race. Filtering the shots that go off, placing your leaders and making sure you save your energy are three key factors for success. The advantage of the two races this weekend is that they are on a circuit: you know at each lap where it will hurt, which places will be strategic. As far as my role as a team member is concerned, it’s always pleasant to be involved in the race, as we were able to show at the Samyn. We hope to do it again.”

Luca Mozzato

“I had a good feeling during my two races in Belgium. We will try to improve again to get better results this weekend. We still need to fine-tune some automatisms but we already know that we have a solid base to build on to make a difference in the race”.

Arnaud Gérard, sport director

“We will have almost the same number of riders as in the Samyn, so we have the right to be ambitious. The two races of the weekend are similar: it’s a circuit, there are cobblestones, small roads, it will be very nervous. We like these conditions. We have three cards to shine with Hugo, Jenthe and Luca. We have the ambition to realize a beautiful weekend and to leave having raised the arms. They are lucky to have a good team around them. As I often say: the result will come from the team”.
