Boucles de l'Aulne : "a race format that can be disjointed"

The Boucles de l’Aulne – Châteaulin, this Sunday, will close two weekends of classics on the Breton territory for the Arkéa Samsic team.

Thibault Guernalec

“I hope this year I can express myself fully. The course is very difficult. Halfway through the race, you pass the summit of Menez Quelerc’h three times. That’s where the race gets tougher and where the selection is made. It’s a race format that can be disjointed and sometimes you have to be lucky to be in the group that the peloton will let go. I have just come out of a training camp at altitude in Sierra Nevada during which I felt better and better every day. We will see what impact it has on this weekend even if I don’t expect positive effects immediately”.

Arnaud Gérard, directeur sportif

“The profile of the Boucles de l’Aulne: a circuit race with two different loops. A circuit race is always a very tiring competition. You have to be careful because there can be a lot of movement. The weather will have to be taken into consideration as it can make the race difficult depending on whether there is a lot of heat or heavy rain.”
