Critérium du Dauphiné (Stage 6) : Warren Barguil 3rd
Warren Barguil took the 3rd place of the 6th stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné between Rives and Gap. As the day before, Matîs Louvel was 9th..
“We were almost among Frenchmen today. We got along well all day. When Valentin Ferron attacked at 500 meters from the line, I think that it was not up to me to go after him. When I won at Tirreno-Adriatico, he was with me in front, today it’s his turn. Third is frustrating, you can’t win every time you are in a breakaway. Nevertheless, I can see that my legs are good and that is a good sign for the next few weeks. Make way for a tough weekend and I hope to recover very quickly!”
“We thought the breakaway could go all the way today. We wanted to be present at the front and the battle lasted almost 50 kilometers before it could come out. Of course, we still want to win but there are no regrets today with Warren’s third place. I don’t forget Matîs’ 9th place. It’s a good day.”
