Etoile de Bessèges (Stage 4) : Alessandro Verre 8th

“It was an irregular climb, with big gradients in places, everything I like. I’m really happy to finish 8th and to have been able to follow the best for my professional debut. I can see that I still lack experience, especially in terms of placement, but that gives me even more motivation for the future.”

Sports director : “Sincerely, I am amazed by the performance of Alessandro. He is a 20 year old beginner in the professional category and he confirmed today that he has great climbing skills. The only small regret is to see him badly placed at the foot of the Mont Bouquet. He had to start the climb in 100th position! Thibault, but also Connor made a great climb. The Arkea-Samsic team worked perfectly today. We’re going into the final time trial with Connor in 6th place and Thibaut 9th overall, so we’re very motivated to finish this Etoile de Bessèges well.
