Grand Prix du Morbihan : "we want to shine on home soil"
For the third year in a row around Grand-Champ, the Grand Prix du Morbihan marks the beginning of a series of 4 Breton classics for the Team Arkéa Samsic.
“As a Breton and riding for a team from Brittany, it’s always pleasant and exciting to race on home soil. It’s a new route that we will have in Grand-Champ, different from the one we had last year. The final part will be on a false flat and the circuit can be an ideal place for a fast race with a lot of attack. The unknown factor is the management of the first big loop and the teams that have lined up big sprinters. But there is a possibility to foil the scenario of a bunch sprint.”
“The Grand Prix du Morbihan will be my first race since Paris-Roubaix. I am very happy to be back to racing, especially in Brittany, because it is a region that I like. The profile of the Grand Prix du Morbihan suits me well I think: it is hilly, there are some bumps and even if there could be a sprint at the finish, it could be in small groups. I am not a pure sprinter and with a profile like this, I can hope for a good result.”
“We are starting with ambitions because we want to shine on home soil. Amaury Capiot has a chance in case of a sprint finish. This year, we will take the circuit of Grand-Champ in the opposite direction, which ends 200m from the finish line with a 900m climb at 4% average gradient. The final loop is hilly and suited for the sprinters-punchers. We also have riders with a puncher profile in our rank and we can rely on them.”
