Clément Champoussin and Cristián Rodriguez finished in the group of favourites on the 4th stage of the Itzulia Basque Country.

“I had an average feeling at the beginning of the race, but it got better and better as the kilometres went by. I found myself in a good group on the final climb. Cristián and I were in a good group. We came to die on Vingegaard and Landa. I finished 9th. I could have been in a better position for this sprint and could have got a better place. It’s encouraging for the future. I have a good feeling again on a UCI WorldTour event where the level is always high”.

“Clément and Cristián finished 3rd on this 4th stage of the Itzulia Country Basque. Clément finished 9th. It’s a great satisfaction because this UCI WorldTour event offers a course that is always difficult and is always disputed. There is a good level. Our team here works well, all the riders respect the instructions given. We are moving forward. Cristian is 17th in the general classification tonight. The aim is to improve his position between now and the end of the race. There are still two good stages to go, including a very difficult one on Saturday. I would also like to pay tribute to the work done by Michel Ries, Alan Riou. Thibault Guernalec and Simon Guglielmi”.
