Nicolas Edet: "We have to match Nairo's talent”

Nairo Quintana will ride the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes and the Var, a race he won in 2020.

My mission this year with Nairo in the Tour de la Provence will be to “eat” the wind as they say for him, to put him in the strategic places of the race. When you work for such a leader, you have to match his talent and his ambitions. That’s what I learned during these four days, that’s what I learned from the great riders, but Nairo is still a step above. He has won Grand Tours in the past and that makes him a champion. I’m looking forward to Alpes-Maritimes Haut-Var to work with Nairo and all the riders in the Arkéa-Samsic team”.

“I started racing again this weekend, racing in Murcia and Almeria. I didn’t expect any miracles after my knee injury because I haven’t had much training behind me. I know that the first races might be a bit complicated, but anyway there is no choice, I had to go through it. I think that this weekend I will be designated to do the work, I will try to help Nacer in the preparation of the sprint, and then the last two days will be for Nairo. Our strength anyway is the collective. It is the key to our success at the beginning of the season. “.
