Route d'Occitanie (Stage 3) : Nairo Quintana 8th
Le Colombien Nairo Quintana a pris la 8ème place de la 3ème étape de la Route d’Occitanie entre Sigean et les Angles. Il est 6ème du général à 24 heures de l’arrivée.
“The Route d’Occitanie is my race after the first part of the season. A good race to get back into the rhythm of competition. It was still very hot today. Hellish. Which made us tired. I would like to underline the very good work of my teammates, and finally I arrived in the main group. There are two riders in front who went out and made a big difference, I will continue to compete tomorrow and I will continue to prepare myself well for the next Tour de France”.
“The team did a great job around Nairo. In the final, we were the most represented team. When Rodriguez and Woods came out, Nairo couldn’t keep up. There is a bit of frustration tonight, but we mustn’t forget that this was his comeback race and he is already at the level of the best and arrives in good shape before the Tour de France. Even though we didn’t come here for this, I don’t forget that we are team leaders tonight, it shows the cohesion of the team.”
