“It was a tough day with a lot of wind. When the peloton broke up, I was in the first group but then I got trapped. Fortunately, everything ended well. The guys did a great job to protect me so I could keep my place for the sprint. This is my first podium this season (and first since last September), so it’s good for my confidence and I think there’s still plenty of room for good results between now and the end of the Saudi Tour.”

“Dan is a great rider, he came to the Saudi Tour to win. Today, our Arkea-Samsic team did a great job around Dan to put him in the best possible position. We are very close to a second victory this season, there is inevitably a little disappointment but I only want to retain the positive: Dan is in shape, in confidence and it will end up smiling and I hope by the end of the Saudi Tour. “
