Volta ao Algarve, stage 2: "Warren finishes among the GC contenders"

“Warren arrived with the main field that was vying for victory at the top of the Alto da Fóia. The climb up the Alto da Fóia was upwind, so the average speed was high and the pace was very fast, with two teams that skimmed the peloton as the kilometers went by: Ineos Grenadiers and Soudal-QuickStep. Our goal was to get Warren, Simon, Elijah and Thibault in the best possible shape for the final climb of the day. Unfortunately, Thibault was not having a good day today and Elijah lost contact with Warren just a few seconds before the finish. A second sprint day is announced tomorrow and our ambition will be to support Hugo in order to get a good performance.”
