Vuelta (Stage 7), Dan McLay 10th
Dan McLay took 10th place in the 7th stage in Cistierna after a great collective work from all his teammates.
“This stage was really hard, it was really limited for sprinters like me. I climbed the pass as fast as I could. All my team-mates stayed with me and we made the junction with Bike Exchange, once in front we rode directly at the head of the peloton. We didn’t manage to catch the breakaway, but we gave it our all. We couldn’t do more. I would like to thank all my team-mates for the work they did because we left a lot to do, but at least we tried. We went through with our idea. It didn’t work out, but there will be other opportunities in this Vuelta”.
“We took our responsibilities on this stage, all the riders respected the instructions, the only disappointment is that the win is not at the end. I have no regrets about the race we did. I am sure that we will have other opportunities during this Vuelta. The Arkea-Samsic team will certainly take back its responsibilities and will race again at the front. Dan is doing well, the whole team is in good shape and we are confident that we will do well in the next stages”.
