Belgium Tour: "we can shine on every stage"

Team Arkéa-Samsic will start the Belgium Tour on Wednesday with a mix of the country’s racing styles: cobbled and windy stages, hilly Ardennes stages and a time trial in the middle.

“I am going into this Belgium Tour mentally and physically rested. It was important to have a quiet period. I also took the opportunity to train a bit more in the mountains. We will see how the legs respond this week because we will not be on the same type of effort. The first two stages in Flanders should suit me, they are profiles that I like. It will also allow me to have a base to work on a rhythm that we will find at the Nats a few days later.”

Yvon Caër, directeur sportif

“The course of the Belgium Tour is very interesting and well balanced. We will have two first stages in pure Flemish style: one with hills and cobblestones, the other very windy. In the middle, the time trial should make gaps for the general classification before the last two hilly stages in the Ardennes and in Limburg. In this sense, we are fielding riders capable of shining on all these terrains. Amaury and Hugo will have their opportunities on the first two stages, whereas the time trial will be a more suitable mode of expression for Connor Swift and Kévin Vauquelin. We will then already have an overview of the situation in the general classification before tackling the last two stages.”
