De Brabantse Pijl: Warren Barguil returns to racing

Placed after the period of the Flandrian classics, the Flèche Brabançonne is a preamble to the campaign of the Ardennes which will extend until Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

“The Flèche Brabançonne is a race that I love, where I took 3rd place last season. It marks the beginning of my Ardennes campaign. It is really a mix between Flandrienne and Ardennaise, it includes some cobbled climbs. After a training period in Spain, it’s a good race to get back to my sensations for the meetings that await me afterwards.”

Yvon Caër, sports director

“The Flèche Brabançonne traditionally makes a transition between the Flanders classics and the Ardennes. Warren will be our leader on Wednesday. It’s a race that suits him and where he’s got his bearings after his podium finish last year. It will also be his comeback. He has been preparing for these races at the end of April. We are counting on him for this period. However, we always know that there can be a time of adaptation to the race rhythm after such a training course.”
